Merchant Financial Advisory LLC ("MFA," "we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through mfa-advisory.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers the Site only. Information you share with us as a client is also governed by your engagement letter and our professional confidentiality obligations.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, company, phone number (optional), the service you're interested in, and your message. When you book a consultation, Google Calendar collects your name, email address and the details you provide for the appointment. If you email us or subscribe to our newsletter, we receive your email address and anything you choose to include.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical data when you visit, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and the date and time of the request. We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers on the Site.
Please do not send Social Security numbers, tax documents, bank details or other sensitive financial information through the contact form or by ordinary email. Once we're engaged, we'll give you a secure way to share documents.
How we use information
- To respond to your inquiry and schedule and hold consultations.
- To provide and improve our services and the Site.
- To send newsletters or updates you've asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email.
- To protect the Site against spam, fraud and abuse, and to meet legal, tax and professional record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Service providers
We rely on trusted providers to run the Site and our communications. They process information on our behalf and only as needed to provide their services:
- Netlify: website hosting and contact-form processing.
- Google: appointment scheduling (Google Calendar), email (Google Workspace) and web fonts (Google Fonts).
- Email newsletter provider: if you subscribe to our newsletter.
- GitHub: stores the Site's code. It holds no visitor or form data.
Each provider has its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or as part of a business transfer.
How long we keep information
We keep inquiry and consultation information for as long as it's needed to respond to you and for our business records. Client information is kept as required by applicable professional and legal record-retention rules. Newsletter subscriber information is kept until you unsubscribe.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to the Site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information you've given us through the Site, or to stop sending you marketing emails, by writing to [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, and we'll honor requests as those laws require. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and some information may need to be kept for legal or professional reasons.
Children
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Links to other sites
The Site links to third-party websites, such as IRS.gov, state tax agencies, Upwork, Fiverr, LinkedIn and Instagram. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
